Ingredients
-
½ cup fresh lime juice
-
¼ cup orange juice (or non-alcoholic triple sec)
-
2 tbsp agave syrup
-
3–4 jalapeño slices (seeds optional, adjust to taste)
-
Ice
-
Club soda (to top)
-
Tajín or chili salt (for rimming the glass)
-
Non-alcoholic tequila alternative (optional, e.g., Ritual or Lyre’s)
Instructions
-
Prepare the glass rims: Rub a lime wedge around the rims of two glasses. Dip each rim into Tajín or chili salt on a small plate to coat.
-
Muddle the jalapeño: In a cocktail shaker or mason jar, muddle the jalapeño slices with lime juice and agave syrup to release the flavor.
-
Add the rest: Pour in the orange juice and non-alcoholic tequila (if using), then add ice to fill.
-
Shake it up: Shake well for about 20 seconds until the shaker feels cold to the touch.
-
Strain & serve: Strain the mixture into prepared glasses filled with fresh ice.
-
Top & garnish: Top each drink with a splash of club soda. Garnish with a slice of jalapeño or lime. Serve immediately!
Notes
-
Tip: Start with fewer jalapeño slices and add more as needed for your heat preference.
-
Variation: Add cucumber slices for a cooling contrast.
-
Storage: Store leftovers in the fridge and consume within 24 hours. Stir well before serving.
-
Make it tropical: Swap orange juice for pineapple juice for a sweet heat twist.
