Pepper-Mint Limeade Recipe: A Spicy, Cool Summer Refreshment

  • Author: ANA ARMAS
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4–6 servings

Description

Pepper-Mint Limeade is a refreshing twist on classic limeade, blending fresh mint, zesty lime juice, and a touch of jalapeño heat for a drink that’s both cooling and bold. Perfect for hot summer days, garden parties, or a fun mocktail night, this drink is as vibrant in flavor as it is in appearance. Customizable and incredibly easy to make, it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 56 limes)

  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves (loosely packed)

  • 1 medium jalapeño, thinly sliced (remove seeds for less heat)

  • ½ to cup sugar, honey, or stevia (adjust to taste)

  • 4 cups cold water

  • Ice, lime slices, and mint sprigs for serving

Instructions

  1. Muddle the mint leaves and sliced jalapeño in a large pitcher, pressing gently to release their flavors.

  2. Add the fresh lime juice and chosen sweetener. Stir until the sugar (or alternative) is fully dissolved.

  3. Refrigerate the mixture and let it steep for 30–60 minutes to develop flavor.

  4. Add 4 cups of cold water and stir well. Adjust sweetness or spice as desired.

  5. Optional: Strain out solids for a smoother drink.

  6. Serve over ice, garnished with lime wheels and mint sprigs.

Notes

  • For a sparkling version, replace half the water with soda water or lime seltzer.

  • Adjust spice level by using fewer jalapeño slices or removing them early.

  • To store, keep in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

  • Freeze leftovers in ice cube trays and use in water, tea, or cocktails.
