Customizable and incredibly easy to make, it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
-
1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 5–6 limes)
-
1 cup fresh mint leaves (loosely packed)
-
1 medium jalapeño, thinly sliced (remove seeds for less heat)
-
½ to ⅔ cup sugar, honey, or stevia (adjust to taste)
-
4 cups cold water
-
Ice, lime slices, and mint sprigs for serving
Instructions
-
Muddle the mint leaves and sliced jalapeño in a large pitcher, pressing gently to release their flavors.
-
Add the fresh lime juice and chosen sweetener. Stir until the sugar (or alternative) is fully dissolved.
-
Refrigerate the mixture and let it steep for 30–60 minutes to develop flavor.
-
Add 4 cups of cold water and stir well. Adjust sweetness or spice as desired.
-
Optional: Strain out solids for a smoother drink.
-
Serve over ice, garnished with lime wheels and mint sprigs.
Notes
-
For a sparkling version, replace half the water with soda water or lime seltzer.
-
Adjust spice level by using fewer jalapeño slices or removing them early.
-
To store, keep in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
-
Freeze leftovers in ice cube trays and use in water, tea, or cocktails.
