Ingredients
-
1 tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar (with “the mother”)
-
Juice from ½ fresh lemon
-
½–1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (or ¼ teaspoon ground ginger)
-
1 teaspoon raw honey (optional, for sweetness)
-
1 cup warm (not hot) water
Instructions
-
Warm your water until it’s comfortably warm (not boiling).
-
Squeeze the juice from half a fresh lemon into a glass or mug.
-
Add grated fresh ginger (or ground ginger) to the lemon juice.
-
Pour in the apple cider vinegar.
-
Add honey if you prefer a sweeter drink.
-
Top with warm water.
-
Stir thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined.
-
Sip slowly, ideally on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.
Notes
-
For a less intense flavor, add extra water or a splash of coconut water.
-
Make it cold by adding ice, or boost it with a pinch of cayenne or a slice of cucumber.
-
Use a straw to protect your teeth from the acidity.
-
If you’re new to apple cider vinegar drinks, start with ½ tablespoon and increase gradually.
-
Best enjoyed fresh, but you can prep a concentrate (without water) and store in the fridge for up to 24 hours—just add warm water when ready.
-
Do not use as a meal replacement. Always consult your doctor if you have health concerns or take medication.
