Frosty Moscow Mule mocktail in a copper mug with ice, fresh mint, and lime wedge garnish on a rustic wooden table.

Moscow Mule Mocktail

This Moscow Mule Mocktail is the ultimate fizzy, alcohol-free refresher—perfect for parties, family gatherings, or a quick cool-down on a hot day. With bold ginger beer, fresh lime, and cooling mint, it delivers all the classic “Mule” flavor and zing without the booze. Serve it in a copper mug for extra flair, or customize with fruit and herbs for your own creative twist!

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 mocktail 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lime, quartered (plus extra slices for garnish)

  • 68 fresh mint leaves (plus extra for garnish)

  • 1 cup ginger beer (regular or low-sugar, well-chilled)

  • 1 oz non-alcoholic vodka (optional)

  • 12 tsp sweetener (honey, agave, or simple syrup; optional)

  • Plenty of ice

Instructions

  1. Muddle: In your copper mug or glass, add lime quarters and sweetener. Press firmly with a muddler or wooden spoon to release juice.

  2. Add Mint: Clap mint leaves between your hands to release aroma, then add to mug. Gently press with muddler—don’t overdo it to avoid bitterness.

  3. Non-Alcoholic Vodka: Pour in non-alcoholic vodka if using.

  4. Add Ice: Fill mug completely with ice for max chill.

  5. Pour Ginger Beer: Top with chilled ginger beer, pouring slowly to keep the fizz.

  6. Stir: Gently stir to mix.

  7. Garnish: Add extra mint and a lime slice for a festive finish.

  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Mocktail tastes flat? Use fresh, brewed ginger beer—ginger ale is sweeter and less zesty.

  • Mint bitterness? Only press mint lightly—too much muddling brings out harsh flavors.

  • Too sweet? Choose low-sugar ginger beer or add a splash of club soda.

  • No copper mug? Use any glass or mason jar.

  • Fun twist: Let guests pick garnishes like cucumber, berries, or extra herbs.

  • Make-ahead tip: Prep everything but ginger beer and ice, then assemble just before serving to keep it fizzy.

  • Leftovers: Strain out ice and herbs, refrigerate, and revive with fresh ginger beer.
