Ingredients
-
2 tbsp dried hibiscus petals (or 3 hibiscus tea bags)
-
24 oz water
-
2 tbsp honey (or agave syrup)
-
2 tbsp warm water (for dissolving honey)
-
2 small limes (about 4 tbsp juice)
-
12–16 oz sparkling water (like Topo Chico or club soda)
-
Ice cubes or crushed ice
-
Garnish: lime slices or fresh mint sprigs
Instructions
-
Brew the Tea: In a saucepan, heat 24 oz of water until it simmers. Add hibiscus petals or tea bags and steep for 3–5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 20 minutes.
-
Make Honey Syrup: Stir together 2 tbsp honey and 2 tbsp warm water until fully dissolved.
-
Juice the Limes: Squeeze the limes to get about 4 tbsp of juice.
-
Assemble the Drink: Fill each glass with ice. Pour hibiscus tea halfway up the glass. Add 1 tsp honey syrup and 1 tbsp lime juice. Stir gently.
-
Add the Fizz: Top off with sparkling water. Garnish with lime slices or mint sprigs. Serve immediately.
Notes
Add frozen berries for an extra chill and flavor twist.
Too tart? Sweeten with more honey syrup or a splash of orange juice.
Not fizzy enough? Add sparkling water just before serving.
Make-ahead tip: Brew hibiscus tea and prep honey syrup in advance.
Try it with edible flowers or a sugared rim for extra presentation points.
