Frosted shot glass of golden-brown Black Tea Shot, garnished with a lemon wheel on a rustic bar top

Black Tea Shot

A smooth, sweet–tart whiskey shooter that looks like a cup of black tea—but there’s no tea at all! Irish whiskey, peach schnapps, and sour mix shake up into a golden-brown, lightly fruity shot that goes down easy and livens up any party. Perfect for cocktail beginners and whiskey lovers alike.

  • Total Time: 2 minutes
  • Yield: 1 shot 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ oz Irish whiskey (Jameson recommended)

  • ½ oz peach schnapps

  • ½ oz sour mix

  • Ice cubes

  • Optional: splash of cola for a deeper “tea” color

Instructions

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.

  2. Add whiskey, peach schnapps, and sour mix (plus a dash of cola if desired).

  3. Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well-chilled.

  4. Strain into a frosted shot glass and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Jägermeister twist: Swap whiskey for Jägermeister for a spiced herbal kick.

  • Sweeter version: Add ¼ tsp simple syrup or honey.

  • Citrus boost: Replace sour mix with fresh lemon juice for brighter acidity.

  • Batching tip: To make a pitcher (12 shots), multiply every ingredient by 12 and stir with ice; strain into individual glasses just before serving.
