Ingredients
-
1 oz fresh lime juice (about 1 large lime)
-
1 oz agave syrup (or honey/simple syrup)
-
1 oz fresh orange juice
-
Ice cubes
-
Coarse salt, for rimming the glass
Instructions
-
Salt the rim – Run a lime wedge around the rim of a margarita or rocks glass. Dip the rim into coarse salt and gently twist to coat.
-
Combine ingredients – In a cocktail shaker or mason jar, add lime juice, agave syrup, and orange juice.
-
Shake – Fill the shaker with ice, seal tightly, and shake for about 10 seconds until thoroughly chilled.
-
Serve – Strain into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wheel and enjoy immediately.
Notes
-
Spicy twist: Muddle a few jalapeño slices in the shaker before adding the juices.
-
Frozen version: Blend the three ingredients with 1 cup ice until slushy.
-
Sweeter or tarter: Adjust agave syrup up or down to taste, or add a splash of sparkling water for light fizz.
-
Batching: Multiply ingredients by the number of guests, stir in a pitcher with ice, and strain into salt-rimmed glasses on demand.
